A Little Theater With Your Lunch
Woodbridge Resident launches Play With Your Food at the Thomas Darling House on Feb. 29.
As a child, how many of us were warned not to play with our food? Well, have no fear – on Feb 29, everyone is invited to participate in a little “Play With Your Food” at the Thomas Darling House in Woodbridge. Resident Joanna Keylock is producing the very popular theater event, Play With Your Food, that has entertained theater lovers in Fairfield County for the past 10 years.
“I have been lucky enough to participate as an actress at many Play with Your Food” readings”, said Keylock. “I thought it would be exciting to bring such a well-attended and entertaining theatre experience to the Woodbridge community.”
Keylock has an extensive background as an actress and has done Off-Broadway in New York, Long Wharf Theater, appeared in several television shows and is now involved in a web series called Suburban Legends. She has teamed up with co-producers Carole Schweid (A Chorus Line) and Nancy Diamond to present readings of three original one-act plays by the best playwrights worldwide, performed in a casual luncheon setting. Two of the plays that will be read are Signs of Life by Frederick Stroppel and Marred Bliss by Mark O'Donnell.
“A script–in-hand reading is spontaneous and fun, sometimes outrageously so, for both the actors and audience in attendance,” said Keylock. “The plays are always interesting, sometimes funny and often provocative.”
The event concludes with a brief talk-back session with the actors.
Preceeding the reading is a lunch of salads, wraps, sandwiches and coffee dessert provided by Savour Catering.
“We've had a great response and have many seats reserved,” said Keylock.
The Thomas Darling House is at 1907 Litchfield Turnpike, and the event is from noon until 2:00 p.m. Admission is $30. Reservations for “PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD” can be made by calling 203-305-7762, or tickets can be purchased at The Thomas Darling House on the day of the performance. Please call ahead for more information.

Great idea. We'd love to go, but it's impossible for us working stiffs. How about doing it on a Saturday or Sunday instead of Wednesday!
