Bethany's Farmers Market: 50 varieties of lip balm? Well, duh . . .

Nature's Lip Stuff is only the tip of the body-care iceberg at this booth.

One of the many mother-daughter duos at the Bethany’s Farmers Market is Roseann Haggerty and her daughter Kimberly Graves, proprietors of Nature’s Lip Stuff out of Wallingford. They’ve been making all-natural body care products for more than two years, but this is their first summer in Bethany.

The pair creates their merchandise in Graves’ home using only natural ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil, and were inspired by a mildly autistic son with a sensitivity to certain ingredients.

“We had switched to a gluten-free, casein-free diet,” Graves said, adding that when the all-natural lifestyle seemed to make a difference for her son, they took it a few steps further. A few giant steps.

“We started with lip balm,” Grave said, noting that her son often had chapped lips.

Currently, they carry 50 flavors of lip balm, including their newest, peanut butter and Fluff.

The balm containers are recyclable and safety sealed and all labels are made by Graves.

“This way I know my ink cartridges are being recycled,” she said.
