Police: Connelly Gold & Diamond Family Nabbed in Alleged Drug Raid
Details are released on the Oct. 16 raid on the Woodbridge business, which allegedly found prescription narcotics and heroin.
A father and his two sons were arrested on October 16 in the culmination of a drug investigation into Connelly Gold & Diamond (1663 Litchfield Turnpike in Woodbridge), according to a report just released by the Woodbridge Police Department.
Police say John Connelly Jr., 65, and his sons Michael, 19, and John III, 26 -- all of Seymour -- were involved in the sale of narcotics. A raid turned up more than 300 Oxycontin/Oxycodone pills, heroin, marijuana, and assorted prescription bottles of various painkillers.
According to reports, Michael Connelly fought with police as they entered and tried to swallow a quantity of heroin during the raid.

Michael and John III were arrested at the shop, according to reports, while John Jr. was arrested at his home. All three were charged with Sale of Narcotics, Sale of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a School Zone, Conspiracy and Illegal Operation of a Precious Metals Business. (Police also say the Connelly's precious metals dealership was unlicensed.)
