The Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Department accompanied Santa and Mrs. Claus on his annual pre Christmas visit to some very special children in town this week.

Each year the Human Services Department gives the firefighters the names of the children who need a special visit. Then Mrs. Claus comes to Woodbridge and goes out with one of the firefighter's wives to buy specific gifts for the children on the list with money that the firemen donated.

Santa comes down from the North Pole and along with his lovely wife, climbs into a brightly lit firetruck and delivers the gifts to the children, with warm hugs and kisses too.

When they are done for the night, Santa, Mrs Claus, the firefighters and elves return to the station and warm up with a hot meal.

On Wednesday, the firefighters sang Happy Birthday to Mrs Claus, and handed her a bowl of homemade chili.

This is one event that the firefighters look forward to every year.
