In this week's Readers' Choice contest we want you to tell us who has the tastiest, juiciest, most delicious burgers in town -- and what makes them so darn good? In its purest form it's just a beef patty on a bun. But today's burgers are much more complex, with toppings that range from the classic lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mustard to items that include everything from bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos, avocado, chili or a fried egg. You could even get a burger made from turkey meat or bison, or a veggie one, too. When it comes down to it, you could put just about anything on a burger. And there are some great restaurants serving some incredible burgers right here in Bethany and Woodbridge. In this week's Readers' Choice contest, we …

I hope it is not another metal Butler building! Route 63 is a really ugly road. What's going on at the old swim and tennis club? What about the cleanup side up the street that was listed as "Sold". Is the old Seymour Lumber property sold? (The sign is down.) What is going on with the Gas 'n Rob convenience store?   more ›

Local Chatter on CT Matters: Bethwood

Minimum Wage Hike Passes Connecticut House

Connecticut’s minimum wage could rise a quarter a year for the next two years to $8.75. A new study says that minimum wage increases do little to effectively help poor people.

He reportedly backed a more aggressive bill, which would have raised minimum wage to $9.75 in two years and then tied future increases to inflation. Economists and politicians have never reached a consensus on the merits of raising the minimum wage and the potential effects on employment numbers. A new study from the University of Georgia states that raising the minimum wage doesn’t help poor people. From the study’s …
