Public Invited to Residential Home Energy Saving Program

On Thursday, April 24, the Bethany Energy Task Force will host a presentation on residential energy saving programs offered through Energize Connecticut – including Home Energy Solutions℠ (HES) - a program designed to help people save money on their energy bills.

For those who sign up for HES, CL&P-authorized energy specialists will come to your home or apartment and provide energy improvement services which include locating and professionally sealing critical air leaks, replacing up to 40 incandescent lights with energy-saving bulbs, and insulating hot water pipes.

While these services are valued at an average of $1,000, the cost for the HES service is only $75 for homes heating with electricity or natural gas, $99 for homes heating with fuel oil and propane, and is free for those who meet income eligibility guidelines.

Program administrators from CL&P will be on hand to answer questions as well.

Wednesday’s event will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Town Hall (40 Peck Road). It is free of charge and open to the public.
