1st Annual National Fossil Day

This is Earth Science Week, and the National Park Service and the American Geological Institute are partnering to host the first National Fossil Day—on October 13, 2010. There will be a fossil touch table, plus morning activities geared for young children, including a couple of Roxi Fox's famous puppet shows at 10:15 and 11:30 am!

Then, starting at 2:30 pm, bring the kids after school, or drop by on the way home from work, for a rare opportunity to see the most complete dinosaur skeleton ever discovered in Connecticut. The Anchisaurus skeleton, found in 1891 in a brownstone quarry near Manchester, is the best of a handful of dinosaur skeletons ever found in a state known for its extensive dinosaur footprint trackways.
