Expansion On Tap For New England Brewing Company

The Woodbridge-based business is hoping to move to a space nearly three times the size of its current building.

Business is hopping for New England Brewing Company.

The Woodbridge-based small-craft brewery just celebrated its 10-year anniversary in June and now has its eyes on a new space that would nearly triple its size.

The Woodbridge Town Plan and Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting on July 15 to open a public hearing on New England Brewing Company's special permit application needed for it to move forward with its plans.

The brewery is currently located in a 3,000-square-foot space at 7 Selden St., where it produces about 5,000 barrels of beer a year. The plan is to move to a 8,400-square-foot facility at 175 Amity Road, which is basically across the street from its current home.

The plans were submitted by William Pastyrnak and Robert Leonard, the brewery owners.

BeerAdvocate.com twice listed New England Brewing Company as one of the top 20 breweries in the country, according to the brewery's website.
