Defeat the Heat

Defeat the heat when the temperature soars. Drink lots of water! Avoid strenuous outdoor activity especially during the midday hours. If you work outside, take frequent cool down breaks. Seek air-conditioned spaces for part of your day, like libraries or town cooling centers. Sunblock is essential, as well as eye protection from the sun's rays. Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles. Check frequently on the elderly. Heat-related illness can sneak up on you and can be life-threatening.  Educate yourself about the symptoms.
