At a regular meeting on Tuesday night, the Bethany Board of Finance voted 5 – 1 in favor of a resolution to “appropriate $3,550,000 for design and construction of an approximately 12,390 square foot addition to the Bethany Community School.” Voting in favor were John Grabowski, Sharon Huxley, John Ford, Chip Spear and Sally Huyser. Voting against was Bob Brinton, Jr. The next stop in the approval process will be Planning and Zoning after which it moves to the Board of Selectmen for approval and to set a date for a town meeting. Upon adjournment of the town meeting, the resolution moves to a referendum expected for the end of October.
