Bethany Commemorates Veteran's Day With a Solemn Ceremony

Friday's Veteran's Day Celebration, sponsored by Bethany Beletzky-Hoppe VFW Post 2448, drew a unusually large crowd. Every chair was filled and more were added, spilling out into other sections of the building. Dignitaries included First Selectman Derrylyn Gorski and State Rep. Vicki Nardello. Members of the Amity High School Choir sang, as well as soloist Heather O'Connor, and Boy Scout Troop 1 served as color guard. The ceremony was short and simple but the crowd was visibly move.
