Brady to Retire from Amity Schools

Amity Schools' superintendent announced his retirement at Board of Education meeting Monday evening

After eight years as superintendent of Amity Schools and 32 years in education, John Brady announced that he will be retiring from his position on June 30. He made the announcement at a meeting of the board of education Monday evening, expressing his regrets to leave the job.

"My time at Amity has been a remarkable experience," Brady told the board. "I will continue to do my very best until my final day on June 30."

Brady spoke with board chairman William Blake on Monday before notifying the board in full. Blake said that the board will begin the process to hire a new superintendent right away, adding that he knows it will be challenging to find a superintendent the same calibur as Brady.
