Rotarians will be at the Massaro Farm Family Fun Day collecting clothing and non-perishable food items on Oct. 1 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

The Woodbridge Rotary Club will be participating in the 3rd Annual Massaro Farm Family Fun Day on Saturday, Oct. 1, by having a food and clothing collection.

From 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., members of the Woodbridge Rotary Club will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items, coats and clothing which will be distributed to those in need in the area.  Non-perishable foods such as soups, stews, tomato sauce, pasta, canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter and jelly are recommended. Winter coats and clothing in good condition in children, teen sizes and adult sizes will be collected.

Also at the event, the Rotary Club will also be offering a literacy program for children related to books about food and farming, according to Woodbridge Human Services Director Mary Ellen LaRocca. The project is one of many community projects sponsored by the Woodbridge Rotary Club, which meets the first and third Fridays of each month at 7:30 a.m. for a breakfast meeting at the Country Corner Restaurant, 756 Amity Rd., Bethany, and the second and fourth Fridays of each month at 12:15 p.m. at Coachman Square of Woodbridge, 21 Bradley Rd., Woodbridge for a luncheon meeting. For more information on the schedule of meetings, contact President Andy Skolnick at 203-877-8000.
