Court Sets Mental Hearing for Serial Rapist
Accused East Coast rapist Aaron Thomas was scheduled to appear in a Virginia court.
The East Coast rapist, who was captured because of who called , was scheduled to appear in a Virginia court Thursday for a competency hearing.
The New Haven Register reported that the mental competency hearing was sought by the lawyer for Aaron Thomas because the accused rapist has engaged in self-destructive behavior and refuses to aid his legal defense.
Thomas is believed to be responsible for sexual attacks on 17 women and girls from Virginia to Connecticut. He faces a life sentence if convicted in Virginia of the abduction and rape of three teenagers on Halloween in 2009.
