Dog Dumped Into Traffic on Route 69

Mixed terrier tossed out of aqua Nissan at lunchtime on Tuesday.

The dastardly ditching of dogs continues in the Bethwood area with another episode this Tuesday, this time on Rt. 69 at the intersection of Bradley Road. According to the dog's rescuer, who asked to remain anonymous, he was heading back to work after lunch when he saw a newer-model, Aqua Nissan stop at the intersection. The female driver opened the door, dropped a small, fluffy white dog into the middle of the road, and drove away.

At this point, the gentleman who witnessed it had two choices; he could rescue the dog because traffic was already speeding past him, or he could get a license plate number. He opted to save the dog.

According to Woodbridge Animal Control Officers, Ambrose (we tried about a hundred names out on him and he consistently responded to "Ambrose,") is a sweatheart of a lapdog who only wants to snuggle and be loved. He seems to be around 3-years old and is more secure around women than men (heaven knows why since it apparently was a woman who ditched him.)

The ACOs say they are following some leads, and anyone with information about this dog or his ditcher is encouraged to call Woodbridge Animal Control at 203-389-5991 or the Woodbridge Police Department at 203-387-2511.

Ambrose will be available for adoption on Dec. 23, and would love a new home for the holidays where he will be loved and cared for, and he promises to love his new family right back.
