Ellie Sheehy Thanks Woodbridge, Says Husband Loved His Job

In a message on the town's website, the wife of former First Selectman Edward Maum Sheehy, who passed away suddenly last week, thanks the town and says her husband was proud to serve.

Ellie Sheehy, the wife of former First Selectman Edward Maum Sheehy, leaves the following message on the town of Woodbridge's website.

"On behalf of myself and our family, Michael, Lindsay, Patrick, John, and Mary Rose, I want to thank this wonderful town for the extraordinary honor, love and support extended to us on behalf of my husband, Ed.

"Edward Maum Sheehy loved being 1st Selectman of Woodbridge and was so proud of this community. He had good reason to be."

Sheehy was laid to rest Saturday. He had served on the Woodbridge Board of Selectman since 1979 and as First Selectman since 2006. He was 73.
