Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein Comes to Woodbridge

Stein hoped that contributions received at the Winchester Restaurant would qualify for her campaign for federal matching funds.

Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for president, who is protest, held a fundraiser Friday in .

According to an article by the New Haven Register, the event was a last minute attempt by Stein to meet a campaign contribution requirement to qualify for federal matching funds for her campaign.

She said she needed to raise at least $5,000 in 20 different states by the end of June to meet the matching fund requirement, and if she raised $1,500 there it would make Connecticut her 20th state.

The event at was billed “Come Have Green Drinks.” Stein told some 50 guests about her fiscal and environmental reform plans.
