Happy Ending for Lucky Puppy

Older dog ditched in Bethany finds love, acceptance and a new mom.

It wasn't long ago that Lucky, an older mixed-breed dog, was looking at a very uncertain future. Dumped on a Bethany Road and brought to the pound by animal control, odds were low that at his age he would be adopted.

Lucky, however, didn't seem to know he was in trouble, and his sunny nature and postiive outlook were infectious. Animal Control Officers Karen Lombardi and Paul Neidmann agreed that he was probably the smartest dog they had ever had at the pound; everyone who met him loved him, but only one woman was willing to take a chance on him.

Frances Vadney had visted the pound and spent time playing with the charming Lucky, but wasn't sure if she could take on the responsibility of a dog at this time in her life. However, she couldn't get that boy off her mind when she wasn't with him. Finally, after a talk with her family, all of whom said she should, "Go for it!" Francis made her last trip to the pound.
