Holidays at the Hall Bazaar This Weekend

Bethany Farmer's Market and Connecticut Food Banks join forces to feed the hungry

Who says the best spot for holiday shopping isn't in Bethany? This Saturday it will be, when the Bethany Farmers Market presents Holidays At The Hall: A Holiday Craft Fair and Shopping Extravaganza.

The event, featuring some 50 vendors of arts, crafts and food, will be held on Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in conjuntion with the Bethany Indoor Farmers Market that is held ateach Saturday.

This event will benefit the Connecticut Food Banks that are low on supplies due to the storms that the state has endured this year. Those coming to shop are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation. Proceeds from a raffle will also be donated to Connecticut Food Banks.

According to event organizer Nellie Rabinowitz, the fair will feature 30 crafters and vendors including food vendors.

"This is in response to what's going on with so many families in need, this is in response to a crisis," Rabinowitz says. It's just part of what the Farmer's Market does, she explains: "We need to respond to the needs of the community and also to introduce people to shopping locally."
