Small Dog Attacked, Killed by Mystery Animal

Local Veterinarian Urges Caution When Letting Cats and Dogs Outside After Dark

Those of us with pets do it every night - let our dogs out for one last "potty" before bed. For one Bethany family, however, a five minute potty run after dark cost them the life of their pet. When they found their dog outside, it had teeth marks in it's neck and had been shaken so hard there was no way the animal could be saved from its injuries.

Vetrinarian Kim McClure Brinton, who tended to the dog after the attack, said she was baffled; coyotes or bobcats would have dragged their prey away. A fisher cat is a strong possibility and several have been spotted recently in the area.

In any case, read more about it here in the Milford Orange Bulletin, and don't let your pets out of your sight after sunset!
