Sweltering Heat Hitting Northern New Haven County

Northern New Haven and Fairfield Counties could be in for temperatures that feel in excess of 100 degrees.

The National Weather Service issued warns that temperatures could reach a 105 degrees heat index in Bethany, Woodbridge and north New Haven County on Thursday and Friday afternoon.

The heat index takes into account humidity to determine the perceived temperature. The watch is in effect from today at noon until 8 p.m., and then continues on Friday afternoon.

“Potential impacts include heat disorders for children…the elderly and persons performing physical activities during the peak heating of the days,” says the NWS.
