They Just Want Somewhere to Call Home

Pets are available for adoption at the Woodbridge Animal Shelter

The Woodbridge Animal Shelter has put three possible pets in the spotlight this week: Sarah, Thor and Sandy are three very distinct animals.

A new little sweetheart available for adoption this week. Abandoned in Bethany, Sandy is a 25-pound adult Sheltie mix. This brown and white girl loves human attention, is attentive and engaging. She does know some basic commands and is very vocal. Sandy will make an excellent family dog, a sit-by-your-side home dog. Come on down to Bradley Rd., enter the kennel and meet Sandy. You'll see her tail wag furiously as she tells you all about herself.

Thor, an 80-lb. male, black and light tan German Shepherd dog mix is smart, attentive, engaging and loves to play, especially ball. He has had some obedience training and is food oriented. Thor's a handsome dog with nice coloration and temperament, the prototypical GSD.

Sarah, a pitbull with DAC since January, remains available for adoption. She has not given up hope and neither has DAC.

All featured pets are available for adoption at the District Animal Control in Woodbridge. The shelter is located at 135 Bradley Road and can be reached by phone at 203 389-5991. Or visit online.
