Not Just Coffee

The First Church of Christ, Congregational hosts its Annual Coffee House event Friday, March 30th, from 7 pm to 9 pm at 511 Amity Road, Bethany. The evening will be filled with great music, talent and delicious desserts. The event will be hosted by local musician and emcee Joe Masulli and there will be great local talent including an appearance by Bethany’s own battle of the bands winner Terra Firma. This year, the Coffee House event will be combined with the Basket Blitz raffle, featuring lots of gourmet baskets like spa baskets, kids’ fun baskets and sweet treats baskets. Admission is $5 and includes entertainment, one gourmet dessert and coffee and tea. The Astronomical Society of New Haven is hosting a free family public stargazing event on Friday March 30th at 7 pm at 111 Hilldale Rd in Bethany. Telescopes will be pointed at Venus, Mars and Jupiter with its mo.ons. Members will also point out the constellations and satellites. Amity Middle School-Bethany puts on Lady Pirates of Captain Bree Friday March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the school at 190 Luke Hill Rd, Bethany. Gang Way Pirates of The Caribbean, here come the Lady Pirates of Captain Bree. You're in for a swashbuckling musical comedy as the lady pirates take over the defenseless merchant marine ship, the Kayla May. A host of hysterical characters and a spectacular Bill Francoeur score will have you singing and dancing in the aisles. Tickets are $12.50.

Fire Safety & Prevention

Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Department holds a in memory of Eva Ryan Block Saturday, March 31. Children and adults can learn proper installation and placement of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguisher training, touch a fire truck, try on fire fighting gear and rescue tool & thermal Imaging camera demos. Event is from 10am to 2pm at the fire house.
