Description: Fine Line Art Gallery presents works of renowned Connecticut artist Charlotte Sternberg, known for her heart-warming landscapes & holiday scenes. Also featured are miniature paintings, prints, and photographs, plus pottery, jewelry, and unique greeting cards by award-winning local artists.

Brookfield: Sandy Hook Elementary Benefit at The Room

Where: The Room, 3 Production Dr Ste 3, Brookfield, CT

When: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29

Cost: $10

Description: The Room/Tori Talks Music presents a benefit for Sandy Hook Elementary. There will be a raffle with prizes, an iPod full of music from bands that played at The Room, a bass guitar raffle and a 50/50 cash raffle.

Fairfield: The Felice Brothers

Where: Fairfield Theatre Company

When: Saturday, Dec. 29, 7 p.m.

Cost: $22

Description: The Felice Brothers and their band mates Greg Farley, Christmas Clapton and David Turbeville come to us from the Catskill Mountains, where a homegrown sound has been working its way through the bloodlines for generations.

Hamden: Children's Book Drive

Where: Louis Astorino Ice Arena, 595 Mix Ave, Hamden

When:  December 29-31

Cost: Free

Description:  The Read to Score Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children in need with access to free books, will host its second annual McKeon Holiday Hockey Tournament Book Drive in partnership with the Hamden Youth Hockey Association. Between December 26th and December 31st, people can donate new or gently used books to The Read to Score Project at the Louis Astorino Ice Arena, Hamden. All books collected will be donated to the students of Fair Haven School (K-8), New Haven.

New Canaan: Germain G. Glidden Exhibit: Artist & Athlete

Where: New Canaan Historical Society Headquarters & Library, 13 Oenoke Rdg, New Canaan, CT

Cost: Free

Description: Germain Green Glidden (1914 – 1999), or “G3 “as he was affectionately called by friends, was a painter, muralist, cartoonist and a national squash racquets champion.  He was also the founder and chairman of the board of The National Art Museum of Sport in Indianapolis.  Many of his works are on display in the Silvermine Room at the Historical Society. Exhibit hours are Tuesday - Friday 9:30 - 4:30 and Saturday 9:30 - 12:30.

Newtown: Welcome Children of Newtown to Christmas Display

Where: 211 Walnut Tree Hill Rd, Sandy Hook, CT

When: December 29

Cost: Free

Description: Lincoln and Jean Sander welcome the children of Newtown to their home to see a child's Christmas display. There are vintage painted houses with glitter...an entire town is set up with churchs, santas, skaters, marching bands, etc. There are 2 vintage feather trees with old toys underneath. There will be cookies and soft drinks. Our home is located at 211 Walnut Tree Hill Rd., Sandy Hook (house is at the corner of Glen Rd. and Walnut Tree, with the large stone wall) Parking is on the shoulder of Glen Rd.  Please call in advance so that we know how many are coming. 203-364-1833.

Norwalk: Open Muay Thai Kickboxing Class

Description:  Another New Year's Resolution option - start kicking a little butt! Join Coach Eddie, a professional Muay Thai fighter, for class and training at his new school in Norwalk.

Description: It's the beginning of a new year, that means you've just stuffed yourself over the holidays and are now in the Resolution stage. These inexpensive classes can probably help.

Description: Age appropriate stories and crafts for preschoolers ages 3-5. No registration is needed.
