Obituary: Joseph Gabriele, 74, of Bethany

Joseph Gabriele, 74, of 777 Amity Road, Bethany, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his family. He was husband to Barbara (Gardella) Gabriele.

Mr. Gabriele was born in Vénissieux, France on Oct. 19, 1937, a son of the late Roberto and Violante (Gigliozzi) Gabriele. He graduated from the University of New Haven with degrees in mechanical and industrial engineering. He was a longtime Bethany resident since 1968 and the owner of Marga Services Co. Inc. in Bethany since 1978. He was a communicant of Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Marisa A. Faleri and Maria L. Gabriele; a brother, Ugo Gabriele; a sister, Maria Bayer; two grandchildren Marco and Sonia Faleri.

He was predeceased by his son, Marco J. Gabriele.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery, 157 South Pease Road, Woodbridge. Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
