A Flashy Drug Bust; Pot-Holding Teen Tattles on Passenger; and Arrested Twice in One Week

When crime is weird, wonderful or just plain freaky, you'll find it in OMG PD.

BRANFORD – There’s a song that says, “Never get high on your own supply.” We’re pretty sure this guy never heard that one.

Luke Charles Wallace, 30, was reportedly walking up East Main Street at 10 p.m. on Feb. 26, searching for “something” using a flashlight. His friend was following him in a car with the hazard lights flashing.

When police showed up and noticed Wallace acting suspiciously, they searched him and the vehicle and located drugs.

We’re going to go out on a limb here and guess that a most-likely-high Wallace dropped his merchandise and was looking for it. Read the full report and come up with your own conclusion.

STRATFORD – The bottom line when driving a vehicle containing an illegal substance, make sure both license plates are affixed. Two teens learned that lesson the hard way on March 1.

After being pulled over for the routine motor vehicle violation, police – who reportedly smelled marijuana – asked if the teens had drugs in their possession. The 17-year-old driver reportedly pointed to his 15-year-old passenger and said, "He has it."

Ouch. We guess friendship is out the door when drugs are involved. But he was apparently telling the truth because, police said, the passenger handed over six bags containing a green leafy substance, which later tested positive for marijuana.

It’s not over yet, though.

When asked if there were any other substances in the car, the driver reportedly hesitated, police said, and then replied, “I don’t think so.”

Not too convincing…

A K-9 unit settled this one when it sniffed out a secret compartment in the dashboard, where 33.4 grams of marijuana were stashed.

The driver was hit with a series of drug-related charges and the 15-year-old passenger was charged with possession. We bet the 17-year-old will be getting that other license plate fixed real soon … that is, if his parents don’t take away the car.

EAST HAVEN – Some people apparently don’t learn.

Getting arrested is bad enough in itself, but being hit with charges twice in one week – that’s just plain dumb.

Nathanial Bruce Gardiner’s week got off to a bad start on Feb. 23 when he was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and third-degree assault of a victim over 60/disabled. A few days later, he was taken in on charges of carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree threatening and second-degree reckless endangerment.

If he’s found guilty, maybe it’s better he’s off the streets. You can read the original police report, and others from East Haven, byclicking here
