Arrest Made in Woodbridge Library Burglary

Southington man was charged with three crimes

The Woodbridge Police Department arrested a Southington man in connection with the March 21 burglary at the Woodbridge Library.

On March 21, at 11:35 p.m., police responded to an activated alarm at the library. Officers found a broken window, heard noises inside and saw the suspect fee the building. Officer chased the suspect into the wooded area across from the library and after a brief struggle, took him into custody.

Anthony Kukla, 22, of Meader Dr., Southington, was charged with burglary. criminal mischief and interfering with police. The suspect allegedly vandalized the inside of the library, kicking holes in the sheetrock walls, smashing a computer, writing on the walls and discharging a fire extinguisher.

Kukla was held on a $10,000 bond and was hospitalized after the incident.
