Arrests Made in Rash of Residential Burglaries

Woodbridge police have charged two men who they say are responsible for three burglaries.


Woodbridge police have arrested two men who they say are responsible for a rash of recent home burglaries.

The suspects arrested are Ronald Doval, 36, of New Haven, and Bonni Velez, 24, of New Haven. Both men were charged with:

  • Second-degree burglary
  • Third-degree burglary (two counts)
  • Third-degree larceny
  • Conspiracy to commit burglary
  • Conspiracy to commit larceny

According to a report just released by the Woodbridge Police Department, the outstanding arrest warrants were served on Feb. 13 and March 1.

"Police investigation found Doval, and his accomplice Velez, to be responsible for daytime burglaries which occurred during November 2012 at homes located on Bond Road, Main Street, and Johnson Road," the report states.

Doval was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and Velez was detained in lieu of $60,000 bond, police said. Both were presented for arraignment in New Haven Superior Court.
