Chevy Truck Stolen From Bethany Residence

Naugatuck police say the suspects led officers on a chase and then fled after crashing.

Two unidentified persons reportedly stole a pickup truck from a Bethany residence and then led Naugatuck police on a car chase before crashing.

The incident took place at 1:30 a.m. on March 7 when Naugatuck Police attempted to stop a black Chevrolet pickup, which was traveling northbound on New Haven Road. The vehicle fled from officers and crashed a short time later in front of Al's Hot Dogs, 248 South Main St. in Naugatuck, police said.

The vehicle involved was determined to have been stolen from a residence in Bethany, Naugatuck police said.

A witness to the crash reported that two occupants fled the vehicle on foot. Police said the only description of the suspects obtained was that one was wearing “a red clothing item."

The witness told police that the suspects fled into the wood line located behind the South Main Mobil station next to Al's Hot Dogs. A track was conducted by Naugatuck K-9 Officer Kosky; however, the search was unable to lead to the suspects.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221.
