Six Amity High School students are due to appear in court next week on charges stemming from an alleged fight in a hallway.
Woodbridge Police said the fight took place on Monday at approximately 1:32 p.m. "The initial fight began with two students, and was followed by subsequent outbreaks involving four other students," police said.
Police only released one of the students' names, as the five others are considered minors under the law. The student whose identity was disclosed, Michael Battles of Orange, was charged with disorderly conduct. The juveniles were arrested on charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, police said.
All are due in court on Feb. 15.
According to an article by the New Haven Register, Amity Principal Charles Britton sent a note home to parents about the altercation. In it he said the incident was caught on video and that some students sustained injuries, but they did not appear to be serious.
