New Bethany Fire Chief is Al Green

Fire department looking for a few good men and women to volunteer.

For Al Green, Bethany Public Works director and now Fire Chief, the 21 years he's spent with the volunteer fire fighters have been incredibly rewarding.

“I get a lot of satisfaction out of the volunteer department,” Green said. “When you’re young, it’s an ego thing. As you get older, you realize what you do is a valuable contribution to the community. It’s about self-gratification and feeling good about what you do. That’s how I feel about it.”

Green has taken over for retiring Chief Bobby McSherry after his stint as assistent chief.
