Police: JCC Cleaning Staff Worker Arrested for Trying to Pilfer Purse

The employee at Woodbridge's Jewish Community Center was allegedly caught with a would-be victim's pocketbook.

Woodbridge police say a cleaning personnel staff member was fingered after she tried to make off with a patron's pocketbook.
According to a police report, the pocketbook's owner "surprised" the cleaner -- Nancy Wetmore, 51, of Northford -- in the building's locker room at around 10:05 in the morning on August 13. She caught Wetmore putting the purse back in her (the victim's) locker, then running out of the room.
The victim told police about $200 was missing from her pocketbook. Wetmore was arrested and charged with 6th degree larceny.
