Police: Man Broke Into House, Assaulted Woman

State Police at Troop I say they are investigating the incident in Bethany.


Connecticut State Police say they are investigating a report that a man broke into a Bethany woman's house and allegedly assaulted her.

According to a report at Troop I, police have identified the suspect as Ryan Dinsmore. The victim, a 23-year-old woman who lives on Amity Road, is his ex-girlfriend, police said.

Dinsmore is accused of criminal violation of a protective order, burglary, assault and criminal trespassing. He reportedly fled on foot after assaulting the woman.

The alleged incident took place at 4:29 a.m. on Jan. 26 and is currently under investigation.
