Second Suspect Charged in Woodbridge Shooting

Her arrest comes two days after Woodbridge Police arrested suspected shooter Patrick E. Young, of Hartford.

Three days after a woman was shot on Morris Road Woodbridge police arrested a second suspect.

The 28-year-old New Haven woman, Maria Zambrano, was charged with aiding and abetting first-degree assault, and weapon in a motor vehicle. She was arrested around noon on June 27 while appearing at court on unrelated charges, police said.

Zambrano was being held at the Woodbridge Police Department in lieu of a $300,000 bond. She is expected to be arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on June 28.

Her arrest comes two days after Woodbridge Police arrested suspected shooter Patrick E. Young, of Hartford.

According to police, Young forced two women out of a vehicle after an argument while traveling on Morris Road near the intersection of Route 69, and shot one before fleeing with another woman in the car.

That woman, the driver, was Zambrano, police said. She is reportedly Young's girlfriend.

Meanwhile, the shooting victim has been released from the hospital, police said.

Since the investigation is ongoing, police would not comment about the firearm, specifically whether it was recovered and what type of gun was used.
