The Changing of the Guard

On May 3, a new Fire Chief and his officers were sworn in at the Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Association.

It was a bittersweet moment for past Fire Chief Andrew Esposito as he pinned the Fire Chief's badge on his longtime Asst Chief Sean Rowland at the Fire Installation Dinner on Tuesday, May 3.

Esposito served as Asst. Chief for 10 years before putting in 8 years as Chief. Rowland won the position by two votes in the annual election.

This opens the door for new ideas and the advancement of other longtime officers who have maintained their ranks for a long time.

Rowland's second in command is Chris Parietti, who previously served as Captain in the department. He also is a certified trainer at the Fire Academy.

Also advancing in the ranks are Capt. Ted Pocwierz, Lt. Art Anderson, Lt. Adam O'Hara, and Sgt. Dave Watts.
