Two Drug Arrests at Amity Regional High School, a DUI and a Warrant Arrest for Geraldo Rivera (no, not that Geraldo . . .)

Woodbridge Police Blotter

Feb. 25 at 6:53 a.m. police were called to investigate a disabled vehicle on Johnson Road. A pickup truck was found 60 feet off the road stuck in the snow and mud. The driver, Brian Gilbane of Nepas Road in Fairfield, was unresponsive in the front seat and holding a 12 ounce can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer in his hand. Police observed his speech was slurred, and they were unable to administer a field sobriety test as Gilbane needed assistance to walk. He was transported back to Woodbridge police headquarters where he failed breath and blood tests. Police counted 98 empty beer cans in the back of Gilbane’s truck, however, it was unknown when he had consumed them. Gilbane received a summons for a DUI, was released on a $500 cash bond and given a court date of March 3.

March 3 at 11 a.m. Woodbridge police arrested a male juvenile from Orange at Amity Regional High School. A teacher observed he was sluggish and had slurred speech, and a second teacher noted the student was glassy-eyed and drowsy. Two packets of a leafy substance were found in his socks. The student was charged with possession and discharged to his father. His court date is March 11.
