Woodbridge Animal Control Officer Charged with Animal Cruelty

Police say the arrest stems from an incident that allegedly took place in November, 2012.


A Woodbridge Animal Control Officer was arrested today on an active warrant charging her with animal cruelty.

Police said Karen Lombardi, 59, turned herself in at police headquarters.

Her arrest stems from the investigation into an incident which reportedly took place in November 2012 at the Woodbridge Animal Control facility, according to a police report.

That report said no further information would be released at this time, and a call to Woodbridge Police spokesman Sgt. Frank Cappiello and was not immediately answered.

Lombardi was released on a promise to appear in New Haven Superior Court on April 19.
