Woodbridge PD: DUI, Accident and Warrant Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woodbridge police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

June 4, a police officer noticed a woman sitting on the side of the road crying near a parked car with its motor running. The officer stopped and spoke with the driver, Craig Berthiaume, 41, of North Prospect Ext. in Ansonia,  and detected the smell of alcohol. Berthiaume failed all field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He posted his $100 bond and was given a court date of June 16.

June 6 police were called to a motor vehicle accident at Litchfield Turnpike and Clark Road. The driver, Mary Hall, 30, of Stonycreek Road in Branford, said she had no recollection of the accident. Police ordered her to stay in her car, but she refused and had to be handcuffed for her own safety.  Hall was charged with travelling too slowly, failure to drive in the proper lane, possession of a controlled substance greater than four ounces, and interfering with a police officer. She also tested positive for PCPs. Hall posted a $1,000 bond and was given a court date of June 17.

Police arrested Eric Menzik, 39, of E. Rutland Road in Milford, on two warrants for events that occurred May 5 at Mettler St. and Lucy St. For the first warrant, Menzik was charged with larceny in the sixth and forgery in the third. He was not able to make his $10,000 bond. For the second warrant, he was charged with burglary in the third and larceny fifth. He was unable to meet that $25,000 bond. He was held until his court date of last Wednesday.
