Woodbridge Police Blotter: Dec. 3-14

Dec. 3

Michael Burt, 54, of 15 October Hill Rd., Woodbridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Police Report: 

On Dec. 3 at approximately 12:10 p.m., police responded to White Oak Lane on a report of a suspicious motor vehicle, at which time they found the operator, Burt, to be intoxicated. Burt failed roadside sobriety testing at the scene, was taken into custody and transported to Police HQ for processing, where he also failed chemical breath analysis testing. He was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Dec. 17.

Dec. 5

A 16-year-old Amity High Schools student was charged with disorderly conduct.

Police Report:

On Dec. 5 at approximately 7:38 a.m., police responded to the main office of the Amity High School on a report of an “out of control” student who was creating a disturbance. The student was taken into custody and transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released with a court date of Dec. 13 at New Haven Juvenile Court.

Dec. 10

David Gorman, 58, of 531 Woodward Ave., New Haven, was charged with three counts of first-degree failure in court and one count of second-degree failure to appear in court.

Police Report:

On Dec. 10 at approximately 11:23 p.m., police arrested Gorman on four (4) outstanding re-arrest warrants relating to his failure to appear in court on previous larceny charges. Gorman was processed at Police HQ where he was held overnight in lieu of $80,000 bond. He was transported to New Haven Superior Court on Dec. 11 for arraignment.

Dec. 14
Avanti Simmons, 27, of 40 Carmel St., New Haven, was charged with driving a motor vehicle without insurance.

Police Report:

On Dec. 14 at approximately 4:20 a.m., police arrested Simmons on an outstanding arrest warrant relating to a previous motor vehicle accident investigation which determined that he had been operating a motor vehicle 
without insurance. Simmons was processed and released on a Promise to Appear in New Haven Superior Court on Dec. 30 for arraignment.
