Woodbridge Police Catch Man Who They Say Robbed Woman

An 18-year-old New Haven man was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing more than $2,000 from a woman as she was depositing the money into a Woodbridge bank after hours.

The arrest comes a month to the day from the incident, on Aug. 6, following an investigation by Woodbridge Police.

The suspect, Jas Senior, was charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

Police said Senior approached the woman, an employee of a local business, while she was making a night deposit at the Wells Fargo Bank, 260 Amity Road. The female victim was accompanied by fellow employees at the bank when she was confronted by Senior, who reportedly demanded the money and threatened to kill her.

After struggling with the victim, Senior fled with more than $2,000, police said.

Utilizing bank surveillance video, detectives identified Senior as the perpetrator, according to police.

Senior was taken into custody at his residence, and was held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
