Bethany Signs Up for Woodbridge's Animal Control

Board of Selectmen comes to agreement with Woodbridge over Animal Control.

The Bethany Board of Selectmen agreed on Monday night to enter a one year contract with the town of Woodbridge, ensuring that the town will receive Animal Control services for the coming fiscal year.

The decision comes after Orange left a previous agreement involving both Bethany and Woodbridge in order to sign a new deal with Milford. Since the decision, Woodbridge has turned over animal control to its police force.

The key to success with the new Animal Control  policy will remain contingent on the frequency of calls made to the Animal Control Department. Under the new pact, if Bethany should receive more Animal Control calls than Woodbridge, a fee will be added onto the current budget of $43,000.

That fee, it was determined at the meeting, would come into effect the following fiscal year.
