Congresswoman DeLauro to Speak on Woodbridge Based Internet Radio Show

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro will be a guest on Fiona's Radio Show Sunday Evening

For over two years, nine year old Fiona Hynes, and her father, yours truly, have produced an Internet based radio show, aptly named Fiona's Radio Show, just about every Sunday evening.  Often it is just the two of them discussing the topics of the week.  Sometimes, family or friends call in, and on various occasions special guests have called in.

Previous guests have included Governor-Elect Dan Malloy, Secretary of State-Elect Denise Merrill, Comptroller-Elect Kevin Lembo, State Representative Themis Klarides as well as Marc Garofalo who ran against Representative Klarides in 2008.  Politicians who can clearly explain why they would be good in a specific office or what the office really is to a nine year old maybe better positioned to explain their candidacy to adults.  Fiona also especially enjoys speaking with emerging musicians and among others has Bethany based musician Marla Morris.

This evening, Fiona's special guest will be Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro.  Congresswoman DeLauro visited the Multi Age Group at Woodbridge's Beecher Road School in October and spoke with the students about growing up in New Haven as the child of Italian immigrants.  She spoke about how her parents lived the American dream of struggling to get by in the new world, to becoming Aldermen in New Haven.

Growing out of this visit, Congresswoman DeLauro has agreed to speak with Fiona on her radio show Sunday evening.  Fiona plans on asking Congresswoman DeLauro how the Congresswoman can help make sure everyone can get really good education.  Recognizing Congresswoman DeLauro's efforts to insure the safety of food in America, Fiona intends to ask the Congresswoman what is being done to make sure that all our food is safe.  All of this depends on Congress working well together and Fiona will be asking Congresswoman DeLauro for her thoughts about how to get people who are so different from one another to work nicely together.

Fiona's Radio Show is carried on BlogTalkRadio.  People can listen to the show from the website as well as download previous episodes.
