September 11 Memorial Dedication

Ceremony to be held to commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11 at the Woodbridge Fire Department

On Sunday afternoon, the town of Woodbridge will gather at the Woodbridge Fire Department for a special ceremony intended to commemorate the tenth anniversary of September 11th.

The event will be highlighted by the incorporation of a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.

Proposals for what to do with the steel were selected from a pool of seven contestants whose lives were personally effected by the events of 9/11. The plan that was chosen belongs to Mary Baccar, who was standing below the second tower when the plane hit. Architect David Stein, Principal/ Project Manager at Silver Petrucilli, will speak on Sunday about the process that he went through for designing it.

Numerous donations for materials have been given to the town to complete the project. Volontueer firefighters have been working round the clock to have the project ready for Sunday.
