'Very Busy,' Woodbridge Tax Collector Offering Special Hours

Taxes were due beginning July 1 and can be paid without a late penalty through Aug. 1.

No one likes paying taxes, so the Woodbridge Tax Collectors try to make it a little easier with a friendly smile.

And special hours too, to accommodate people's busy schedules now that local property and motor vehicle taxes are due.

Taxes were due beginning July 1 and can be paid without a late penalty through Aug. 1.

So far, Woodbridge Tax Collector Pat Crisco says, "It's been very busy."

Crisco and Assistant Tax Collector Linda Cahill work as a team. Together, they bring 41 years of experience to the table -- 14 for Crisco and 27 for Cahill.

As an added convenience to taxpayers, the Tax Collector will be offering special hours in the coming weeks. They are as follows:

  • Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • Thursday, Aug. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Taxes paid after Aug. 1 will be subject to a 1.5% late fee for each month, which is retroactive to July. In other words, if you pay your taxes on Aug. 2, there will be a 3% late charge fee.
