Wayne Winsley says he “doesn’t want to shred the safety net—because he came to appreciate the need for it after relying on it himself…His life experiences—from a stint at a Boys Town as a kid, to a bout with prostate cancer while he was out of work—give him a different perspective on the social programs that often end up on his party’s chopping block…’ The difference between myself and probably any elected official … is that I have actually had to use the safety net,’ Winsley said. ‘For me, it is not a theory.’…’The point is not to burn the safety net,’ he said. The idea, he said, is to create an environment where it’s a stopgap—not a way of life… So, when it comes to talking about what to cut, Winsley’s keyword is ‘reasonable.’ Nothing should be sacred, he said—including defense spending—but the cuts that are made should be fair.” But a federal program should not be so expensive that it ultimately threatens the very existence of all safety-net programs: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. And these are what Wayne Winsley is committed to preserving. http://www.newhavenindependent.org/index.php/archives/entry/winsley_challenges_delauro/ More about Wayne Winsley here: http://winsleyforcongress.com/about.php And here (including the numerous readers' "comments"): http://orange.patch.com/blog_posts/delauro-dodge-ball-f5ca86fc

Its October, and the same old tired, exhausted Democrat terror tactics are targeting the elderly voters ONCE more. "Republicans want to take away your social security!" Such a lie is the most brazen, merciless terrorism imaginable. The real threat to social security is Rosa DeLauro. She is among those radical extremists who want to see the system buckle and crash. Helpless victims living at death's door in utter squalor is a power trip for her and other extremists. She never lets a crisis go to waste, but use victims as cheap props to gather more power for herself, while handing out big taxpayer subsidies to big campaign donors with corporate headquarters in foreign lands. Fight terrorism! Fight extremism! And down with DeLauro and all partisan hacks in government!

This link is of the 23 minute debate between Wayne Winsley & DeLauro. DeLauro's debate answers all were virtually identical to those she gave the previous Sunday at a church-sponsored forum on poverty—even though all the questions were different! Winsley: "I will never vote for things that I know & believe to be ridiculous and absurd”—like DeLauro's bill that counts ketchup as a vegetable. Notice that she has a binder to look up answers while Winsley is talking. After 22 years you'd think she wouldn't need it to be an open-book exam! DeLauro: creating jobs means getting constructions unions to get my support for govt-paid "infrastructure" TEMPORARY jobs. Winsely: "You can't love jobs but hate job creators [i.e. business]". Re. New Haven violence, DeLauro: childproof locks on guns. Winsley: give kids role models and a future. Re. illegal immigration, Winsley: "America has always been a welcoming nation...We're a nation of immigrants...It should be as difficult to enter the US as it is to enter a Holiday Inn: we all have to check in." Debate format was too short to address ObamaCare adequately, but you can read plenty here: http://RosaDeLauroExposed.wordpress.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT406srfQYc&feature=share&list=PL5wsVsNCEygo6rCWCN2jlOCRO1R0jUpa0

Try Wayne's facebook page, maybe? I've seen him answer policy questions there before. I'm sure he'll give you a complete answer on the topic.

Rosa's dementia is reaching very concerning proportions. In discussions with associates only this morning, Rosa has been exhibiting signs of mental incapacitation as early as a few years ago. Then, a discussion at a New Haven Annex meeting left many in the audience staring at one another in disbelief. Nobody could figure what Rosa was saying. It was incomprehensible babble. Rosa must rely on the "Big Book of Answers". She is never seen without it. This binder is compiled on a daily basis by her staff from DNC Steering Committee cables. Every morning, Rosa's personal aide prints out and inserts new pages with the latest talking points and buzzwords. She is also delivered a fresh list of enemies to attack and denounce. This binder is arranged topically, with tabs to quickly find answers, say "O" for Obamacare, with "Death panels" as a subcategory. The point of this binder is crystal clear: Rosa is mentally incapacitated. She cannot do her job any more. She never had this binder in years gone past. Now she must rely on it to give canned DNC answers to different questions. Since Rosa cannot do her job, that means she is a figurehead, a puppet, an icon in the truest sense. Rosa's staff does all the work. Other people think and speak for her. She must be led by the hand from morning to eve, with aides clarifying every word. In Congress, her job is chief partisan attacker, which she still can do. But legislate? No. Answer questions? No. Rosa is finished.
