Bethany Democrats Take First Selectman [Updated]

But Bethany Republicans perform better overall, winning 13 out of 18 races in Monday's election.

Bethany Republicans outperformed Bethany Democrats in the 2013 municipal election, winning 13 of 18 races, although the race for First Selectman went to Democrat Derrylyn Gorski, who edged Republican challenger Aileen Magda by a slim 25 votes, 931 to 906.

Bethany residents will be casting a vote for 10 different offices when they head to the polls Monday for the municipal election.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The sole polling location in town is at the gym at Bethany Town Hall.

There are only two candidates running unopposed: Democrat David M. Forman for Tax Collector and Democrat James Stirling for Regional Board of Education.
