As many Woodbridge residents continue to come to grips with the sudden passing of former First Selectman Edward Maum Sheehy, an election today is imminent.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The sole polling location in town is at the Center Building on Meetinghouse Lane.

Two weeks ago the Democratic Town Committee nominated Ellen Scalettar to run in place of Sheehy. Scalettar, a former state representative for Woodbridge, Orange and Derby, faces Republican Catherine Wick in the race for First Selectman.

Other races include: Board of Selectmen, Board of Education and Zoning Board of Appeals.
