Klarides Joins Commission to Help Reduce Property Taxes
Rep. Klarides joins commission to help towns save money and reduce property taxes.
Yesterday State Rep. Themis Klarides (R-114) joined fellow legislative leaders to announce the establishment of a bipartisan panel charged with helping cities and towns reduce their costs and increase efficiencies. The group, which was active in 2010 and is now being resurrected, is called the Municipal Opportunities & Regional Efficiencies (M.O.R.E.) Commission. The panel aims to craft legislation encouraging regional cooperation to help municipalities save money and reduce property taxes. With four working groups currently underway, M.O.R.E. will create legislative recommendations in time for the General Assembly to act by the conclusion of the 2013 Legislative Session on June 5.
