Rep. Klarides read to a group of second grade students at Beecher Road School in celebration of Read Across America Day.

This morning State Rep. Themis Klarides (R-114) read to a group of second grade students at Beecher Road School in Woodbridge in celebration of Read Across America Day. Rep. Klarides toured their classroom and learned what the students were studying before reading the Dr. Seuss story Gerald McBoing Boing as part of the nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually in March.

Launched by the National Education Association in 1998, Read Across America Day involves more than 3.2 million teachers, librarians, athletes, celebrities, politicians, business professionals, neighbors and family members reading to an estimated 45 million children in 2013.
