Starting her eighth term in the General Assembly, State Rep. Themis Klarides (R-114) was reappointed yesterday as Deputy House Republican Leader as the 2013 Legislative Session convened.

For the 2013-2015 legislative sessions, Rep. Klarides will hold the second highest position in the 52 member caucus, an appointment by Republican Leader Cafero that was ratified unanimously their colleagues.

She was also appointed to the legislature's Appropriations, Judiciary, Legislative Management, Public Health and Screening Committees.

"I'm honored to continue my role as a Deputy Republican Leader, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to address some of the serious issues Connecticut faces as the 2013 session gets underway," Rep. Klarides said.

Rep. Klarides, who was first elected to the General Assembly in 1999, has served along with Rep. Vincent Candelora as Deputy Republican Leader since 2007.
